The Canberra Physio Clinic website project began with a clear business objective: a complete digital transformation for the clinic (full revamp). An initial UX review quickly highlighted significant issues, revealing disorganised content, frustrating page sections, and an overall digital presence that was far from competitive in terms of both User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX). This preliminary assessment, coupled with a comprehensive analysis of competitors in Canberra, underscored the urgent need for a strategic and user-centric redesign to elevate the clinic's online standing.
User-Centric Design
To address the identified shortcomings, extensive UX research was conducted to deeply understand the clinic's target audience and user needs. This crucial information then informed the creation of a robust Information Architecture (IA), meticulously organized into a sitemap in Figma to ensure clarity for the development team. Following the IA, the development of numerous webpages commenced over two working days, with a strong focus on meticulously curating each section for an optimal user experience. The client actively participated in refining the content, leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs) to enhance its quality and ensure it was engaging and user-friendly.
Revisions & QA
As the project progressed, a significant challenge emerged regarding the client's budget, which could not accommodate the initial plan for over 80 standalone webpages (including UI design, content, and development). A collaborative meeting with the manager and developer led to an agile solution: reducing the total number of pages by implementing pop-ups for various services and conditions they offer, thereby optimising content delivery within financial limits. Upon the completion of development, a thorough and rapid Quality Assurance (QA) check was performed across all devices and orientations to guarantee a flawless and consistent user experience on the revamped website.
